MSc Clinical Sciences
MSc Clinical Sciences
This 12-month programme provides you, having successfully passed a Rila Institute of Health Sciences Postgraduate Diploma, with the opportunity to progress to an MSc Clinical Sciences, where you will investigate an area of clinical and professional interest, whilst contributing to service development and improvement with the ultimate aim of enhancing patient care.
The programme is structured as two modules, the first (Project Development) preparing you in the development of a project proposal and the second (Clinical Specialism Project) carrying out the chosen project in your area of clinical specialism.
All students will enrol on the generic programme (MSc Clinical Sciences) but will exit with a named pathway that reflects the area of clinical specialism reflected in their postgraduate diploma pathway. For example, a student who has completed a Postgraduate Diploma Cardiology would register on the MSc Clinical Sciences but would exit with an MSc Clinical Sciences (Cardiology).
The programme will be delivered using a mix of work based and resource-based learning with online student/staff discussion forum and individual project work with both academic and clinical supervisory support.
You will be supported by experienced clinical and academic supervisors in developing transferable skills within the clinical environment for lifelong learning in a clinical career.
The MSc Clinical Sciences (Specialism) programme is a Stage 3 progression route for students who have successfully completed any one of the following postgraduate diploma programmes from Rila Institute of Health Sciences:
Postgraduate Diploma Acute Medicine
Postgraduate Diploma Cardiology
Postgraduate Diploma Dermatology
Postgraduate Diploma Diabetes
Postgraduate Diploma ENT
