Rila Institute of Health Sciences is pleased to announce the launch of the “Certification in the Management of the Altered Airway (Tracheostomy & Laryngectomy)”, for all healthcare professionals involved in caring for patients, in hospital or the community, with an Altered Airway.

The Certification has been developed by a multidisciplinary team of Surgeons (ENT), Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurse Practitioners and Anaesthetists/Intensivists.

It will provide a blended form of learning over ~4 months which includes lectures, hands on workshops, online reading and assessments, interactive webinars, competency skills acquisition with a local supervisor/mentor and a final summative examination. The programme has been accredited by ENT-UK (the national UK professional organisation for ENT surgeons) for 40 CPD credits.
